Suliman Onque

Suliman Onque is a multifaceted artist from Newark NJ that does paintings, portraits, murals, logos, graphic design, comic books, wearable art and NFT art.

Suliman Graduated from Arts High School 1992. He Created his own comic book Super Sketch painter 2015, 2016.

Suliman Has been in over 60 different Art exhibits throughout his art career. He Has created 2000 plus art creation physical and digital. Has been linked to over 60 different public art displays (murals, etc). He was one of the "Black Lives Matter Muralist in Manufactures Village April 2020.

Suliman Exhibited his art work in the Newark Museum of the Art Oct 2022 (Artful Healing exhibit) 

Suliman is the featured Graffiti Artist in the Grammy Nominated BET video starring rapper Black Thought (from the Roots)entitled “A Love Letter to Hip Hop” directed by Benny Boom in Feb 2023. Also on film creating art in Burnaboy”s Big 7 video directed by Benny Boom (July2023) Suliman is a founding member of the Artists collective 3 The Art Way. Which is a Family of artists: (Mother Yvonne Onque and brother Samad Onque.) Suliman Has created 24 mural and publish art displays in 2024 as part of his 24 for24 personal art goal. 

Suliman exhibited in the ATA Art in the Atrium exhibition “ Black Art in the Sun in 2023 and “My Story Is Our Story” at Novartis Pharmaceutical. The NU Indigo exhibition at the Indigo Residence curated by Femme Curators Dec 2023. Suliman Exhibited in 2024 Harlem Fine Arts Show at the Glass house in NY city. Suliman had his Solo exhibition to commemorate his 50 years of life and a retrospective of his life as an artist. The show was entitled SULIMAN the exhibit . An exhibit that had over 84 pieces of art on display. The exhibit ran from April - June 2024 at ArtFront Galleries in Newark Nj. Lastly He will be in an upcoming exhibition titled “Threads” May 2, 2024 at the Heidi Gallery. 

On July 27-28, 2024, 3 the Art Way proudly represented the United States as the exclusive artists officially selected to exhibit original works as Olympic Art Ambassadors for "Africa Station," also known as Station Afrique. This prestigious venue, dedicated to celebrating African culture and heritage, was a highlight of the Olympic and Paralympic Games festivities, located in Île-Saint-Denis, France.

 

The art that Suliman Onque creates will speak to the viewers in more ways than one. His art touches the souls of all who lay eyes on it.  Promoting peaceful yet gritty displays, with colorful schemes that pop. Suliman creates phenomenal art experiences on each canvas. Taking you on various emotional journeys by way of Art, Love, Life , Joy and Peace.
